I am not an autograph collector so my knowledge base is poor. I am thinking of buying a Buzz Aldrin autograph - one of my all time heros. I am having tough time distinguishing price value amongst couple types of items. 1) A signature on paper not encased in a PSA slab but does have a PSA cert of auth. seems to be around $100. versus 2) A cut signature on a book title page that IS in a PSA slab. How much more value, if any, does having the autograph actually encased in a PSA slab bring? Thx a lot.

A Net54 board member has a space autograph collecting group on facebook (https://www.facebook.com/groups/1862833567300128/)

Thanks for the share David!
The slab of a book cut doesn't bring much more value because in space autographs PSA is a distant second to Steve Zarelli.
Signed books are pretty cheap too. I'd recommend just buying one of those. If you do want a coa, get Zarelli.

If you're just looking for an Aldrin signature on a book, you can routinely find authentic examples for $40 - $60 on ebay or abebooks.

Signed book cuts with PSA typically sell from $50 - $80 on ebay.

Or, you could be like the fool that paid a top price of $134 for a mess like this on ebay.
