I have a shot at this bat. It is in a collection of minor league items including some Vermont Mariners items (where Griffey played in the summer of 1988).

This bat feels right (heavy with fat handle) but just not sure. Light use but has a couple of ball marks. Not cracked. The number 5 is etched into the small knob on the end which confuses me as Griffey wore #4 in Vermont and not sure he ever wore #5? Could it be the bat's weight?

Pics attached for your expert or even non expert opinions! :) Thanks in advance!

Peace, Mike

Looks like a store model bat with the stamped 5 on the knob and the flame tempered...

Thank you!

Any other opinions from others?

Thanks!

I always thought if it said flame tempered it was store model, if it said powerized it was a game bat. I'm sure some of the experts will chime in.

definitely a store model bat............

the 5 stamped on the knob is what is known as an inch mark in that the bat is 35" in length

Store model, 5 is for 35".

Pro model would have team name under his name, instead of LVS.
