So Kyrie Irving wants to leave the Cavs - wow! I didn't see that one coming! He is probably tired of putting up with LeBron's sh*t. If this team loses their #2 player, then they are going to have BIG PROBLEMS! He would like to get traded to one of the following clubs: Spurs, Knicks, Heat or the Timberwolves.

In order for the NBA to become more competitive in 2017/18 season, the following things need to happen:

- Irving joins Spurs

- Carmelo joins either Rockets or Thunder

Bonus:

- Durant or Curry gets injured :D

I'm a Cavs fan (work 5 minutes from LeBron's house, and live 15 minutes from LeBron's house), and I hate LeBron. Hate him. He is a cancer to the franchise.

With that being said, I don't blame Kyrie for wanting to leave, but depending on what the return is for Kyrie, the Cavs will actually be better without Kyrie. This team needs more of a true PG.

Yeah, a cancer to the franchise who took them to a title and three straight finals. Good luck without him.

Should have at least 2 titles by now, if he knew how to build a roster instead of making sure his boys are taken care of.

It's actually a blessing that Kyrie wants to be traded. We'll be able to get back some of the assets that Griffin moved to appease LeBron and his annoying demands.

Man, tough critic. Your franchise was in the gutter until he came back. You've been to three straight finals and won a title. I cannot believe you are knocking LeBron.

The guy held the franchise hostage in 2010, ultimately leaving us in the dust in an embarrassing way at the end of free agency. He comes back, and wins a title during his second season (should've won it the first year, but Love and Kyrie got hurt). All the while, he got all of his boys - Thompson, Shump, JR - paid, demanded Griffin get him help, and mortgaged the future. He doesn't play a lick of defense unless it's the playoffs and he can make a highlight play, he puts zero emphasis on the regular season, robbing the fans of their hard-earned money, and then flops in The Finals. And now he's holding the franchise hostage yet again by not committing to resign after this upcoming season.

There a quite a few fans calling into local sports talk shows, asking for the Cavs to trade LeBron instead of Kyrie. I'm not a Kyrie fan either, but that's how some fans feel.

Nobody goes full tilt for the whole regular season given the playoff format. Except the Warriors when they overemphasized chasing the best regular season record and then lost in the Finals. It sounds to me like you and your fellow fans would be finding fault with God if he played there. Well, he really isn't that good on the outlet pass... Lebron hardly "flopped" in the Finals. He averaged 33.6 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists per game. Some flop.

'true pg' not sure about that. I dont think avery johnson would lead a team to a championship anymore. PGs all have to hit the 'three' now. Need a 3 second rule as well on the three point line a foot or 2 behind it as well but dont get me started ... Going to see 50 threes jacked up per team eventually

The guys been to how many NBA Finals in a row? No significant injuries, plays harder than he has too in the regular season as well. The short layoff after a long Finals run is not to be discounted. Yeah who wants to play with a guy that goes to the Finals every year. Plus had to play without love and irving for one of the finals losses

Yeah gonna be like the old UNLV Runnin' Rebels, two steps over halfcourt and fire it up there.

no more rewarding a hard fought inside move with the foul and 1.......a corner 3 is worth the same as someone driving to the basket with great effort and getting clobbered and making the ft....

Seriously, WTF? LOL!

I'm not a huge Lebron fan, I generally root for whatever team he's playing against, and I get annoyed with many in the media to constantly compare him to Jordan............but seriously, WTF?

The guy never gets seriously hurt either, which automatically makes him better and more reliable then nearly every other star in the NBA. Add 217 Playoff games in his career. Has he EVER missed a playoff start?

Kyrie's a weirdo and a flat earther. He's eccentric to say the least, and he wants to be the alpha on a lesser team. That automatically crosses The Spurs off the list, because Pops not going to hand the keys to Kyrie, because he will likely want an unselfish PG in the mold of a Tony Parker.

Lebron's biggest flaw is he wants everybody to be his friend. Ironically he has 2 of the biggest loners in the NBA on his team in Kevin Love and Kyrie. That's why he's always lobbying for the Cavs to bring in his older buddies from other teams to fill up the bench.

Timberwolves might be a good spot for Kyrie where he can actually win, but no way they will give up one of their young stars for him. Only guy they might give up would be Jeff Teague, who they just picked up to fill the PG role.

He has quite a few Participation Trophies on his shelf, that's true. Only 3 O'Brien's in 8 tries.

he got 3 championships...i hate lebron but its a cheezy argument to talk about how many Finals losses. Dan Marino would of loved to lose 5 super bowls....

its not like the atlanta braves either who only 1 won championship in that last playoff stretch...

Id like to see Jordan win a NBA championship if Pippen and another sold player were injured in the series. Its not the case that the Cavs were favored going into the NBA finals either.

Jordan was in 6 of 8 NBA finals...so that means for 2 years..he did squat....going to the NBA Finals is 10000x better than doing zilch..yeah he wasnt playing but it is what is is...people get hurt and dont play too......he didnt play...if he played maybe he loses...we will never know....Lebron cant be penalized for playing and getting to the nba finals when jordan wasnt even playing...

Pippen did win 50 plus games during at least one seasn when jordan wasnt playing ..id like to see the Cavs win 50 the last 2 years without lebron

How many did Larry Bird win? Julius Erving? Wilt? Oscar? West? That is one of the most absurd statements I have ever read. He is a generational player, one of the very few best of all time. Nobody can seriously dispute this. The only question is how high do you rank him. Among non-centers I would still rank Jordan ahead of him, and Magic slightly but not by much, but that's it.

You clearly have some issue with his personality but don't confuse that with his enormous basketball talent, drive and intelligence.

I do not like him personally, you're right, but I'm also judging his basketball abilities and IQ. I think he is overrated. I think he's more of a con man than a basketball player. He has manipulated the NBA to hide his weaknesses. Not to mention his game has always infuriated me, especially in his first stint with the Cavs. He overmatches EVERYONE, yet settles for 3s half the time. He ignores fundamentals such as defense and free throws. He helps guys like Draymond off the floor when he should just let them rot there until they get themselves up; whatever happened to a rivalry? Oh yeah - LeBron killed it. He is incredibly thin skinned and doesn't like when people don't like him.

LeBron is an absolute phony on and off the court. He is single handily ruining the NBA.

As someone posted earlier, WTF.

As far as helping Draymond up, should Willie Mays not have dragged John Roseboro away from Marichal and helped him off the field? That was a great rivalry, but there is also a thing called sportsmanship even in that context. Did you somehow miss LeBron being in Durant's face in game 5? LeBron is as intense a competitor as I have seen, I have no idea at all what you are watching.

Man did he turn down your autograph request or what? LOL

I don't watch as much basketball as I used too (I was a big fan towards the end of Bird/Johnson era and the hay day of Jordan, Malone, Barkley, Olajuwon, Drexler etc...

That being said Lebron is one of the best damn players I have ever seen. Biggest negative I have to say about him was the "The Decision". But that was just a dumb marketing/Pr thing that didn't work the way he and his handlers thought it would. But that being said it did raise a ton of money for charity, so it's not all bad!

I would love to see where the Cavs would have been if he had never played for the team. How many NBA Finals did they reach before James? How many after he left? I think that number would be 0! I believe the Heat only had one Finals appearance w/o James.

Let's not forget about how he carried the 2006-2007 Cavs to the NBA Finals. That might be the worst team to ever make it to the finals. I watched a lot of their games that year as a local guy Larry Hughes was on the team and what James did was amazing!

In recent memory that Iverson led Sixer team was worse than that 2006-2007 Cavs team.

as far as the Heat only having one Finals appearance w/o James....they would have had ZERO finals appearances without Wade....

That being said, I hate Lebron..but i would of said nobody could of lived up to the hype he had coming out of high school and heck he exceeded it. He made a lot of money for young ballers that some people thought could be the next lebron and failed... The game is changing.....tons of 3s.... its a different game today, even Jordan would of had problems if his opponents made 25 threes in a game against him.... its amazing Lebron still is impacting the game like he does with all these changes..

I've read that they are considering a 4 point line. LOL. Personally, I would move the 3 line back to restore some balance.

I may be from bygone era, but I remember the NBA before the 24 second shot clock, the "set shot" was king and traveling resulted in a turnover. The 3 point line was somewhere in Newfoundland.

How on earth did this thread turn into a Jordan vs. James debate? You guys are crazy. :)

If you saw my previous thread on the NBA, then you'll know that I'm not happy with the way things are going over there. Players flopping around so they can get sent to the line is a huge issue - Harden is probably the biggest abuser - but there is something that is an even bigger issue, and that is lack of competition. What's the point of watching when we know which two teams are going to meet in the finals?

This is why I am happy that Cleveland's #2 player wants out because that means we'll finally see some competition in the east. Now Cleveland can still keep him if they want, but they just signed Derrick Rose, so it looks to me as if they might be letting him go.

I want Kyrie to go to the Spurs because then it will give them a better chance of beating GS. If he goes to the Knicks, Heat or the Timberwolves, then what good will that do? :(

And as many of you know, Chris Paul is now with the Rockets. If they can also get Carmelo, then that will be wicked.

Jordan was in 6 of 8 NBA finals...so that means for 2 years..he did squat....

What are you talking about, dude? Jordan is undefeated in the finals (6 for 6).
