Was thumbing through a new beautiful glossy catalog on the train this morning and read through long text passages that went on and on. I learned some incredible facts though. I just pass these on in case they are news to anyone.
Babe Ruth is reputed to be the greatest baseball player who ever lived.
Some guy named Jackie Robinson was the first black baseball player to play Major League Baseball.
Apparently there was a cheating scandal that Joe Jackson somehow got caught up with.
I was going to spend a few hundred thousand on a Mickey Mantle card. But after hearing about the many long home runs he hit I may go all in.

"Stealing" second base shortens the distance from first to third.
"Stealing" third base all but eliminates the sacrifice fly scoring a run.
"Stealing" home ends the game as no more runs can be scored.

Stealing second base shortens the distance from first to third.
However, this occasionally backfires if the runner happens to get thrown out on the play. This results in an "out" and the runner returns to the dugout, deflated for letting his teammates down.

Then it just shortens the distance between 1B and the dugout (depending on which team occupies each dugout). ;)
