The photographer of this cabinet photo is David Bailey who was active in the 1860's and had a studio in Tamaqua, PA. I have found many other examples of his work but I am yet to find any information about this player or his team. The jersey appears to say "Livingston". I figure this is a town either in PA or NJ. Any information about this would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I'm going to research that town for old baseball when I get the chance. Thanks for that information Scott.

Did a quick check and actually came up with a 200 page PDF on the History of Livingston, NJ, alas no mention of baseball.

Thanks for checking! Maybe the Jersey doesn't say Livingston? Back to search the INTERWEBZ!

This article references "The Livingston's":

http://www.libraryweb.org/~rochhist/v63_2001/v63i2.pdf

"The victory over Geneseo was especially remarkable as the Livingston team was reported to be reinforced with several professionals."

I also found this article which mentions the team:

Okay so now who is this guy? He played for The Livingstons of Geneseo.

Another mention:
https://sabr.org/latest/biographical-sketch-larry-corcoran

"Larry Corcoran appeared on the mound for the Mutual and Chelsea clubs of his native Brooklyn in the early weeks of the 1877 season, transferring to the Geneseo Livingstons in late June. By August, he was a member of Buffalo pitching staff, as that city entered ranks of professional baseball for the first time."
