attention all 1912 Pittsburgh Pirates Ticket in SGC Holders that are from complimentary 1912 booklet
dates are listed on labels are most likley wrong
before any one wants to burn me at the stake.
there is bad news and good news , some actual dates are better games than whats on the SGC label thats the good news , Bad news is there were 18 rainouts on during the Pirates 1912 Home schedule starting from the Home Game #2 , the tickets in SGC holders BOOK NUMBER 98 have only home Game numbers AND 1912 YEAR
SGC just counted down Home games played with total disregard to what the Home Game numbers actually meant and oblivious to the rainouts.
see link to Retro 1912 Pittsburgh Schedule " FOR GAMES PLAYED "
http://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/PIT/1912-schedule-scores.shtml
you can only see game played !!! notice gaps in home dates (rainouts)
the Home game number would have been printed prior to season beginning .
Home Game 1 and home Game 74,75,76, 77 are accurate the rest are wrong
on the SGC holders
I have attached an official 1912 Pittsburgh Pirates Home schedule
down loaded from an original 1912 Sporting Life , compliments of a Fellow Net 54 Member held in high regard
Basically if look at the printed schedule and you count down games in date order 1-77 you can find the correct date for the actual Game number would have been played , in the event of a "rainout" the ticket number for that game number would not be valid for any other game ,
there may have been as many as 50 slabbed at one time I would imagine 45-48 are wrongly dated . but once again actual date may be a better result
any questions or if your not sure of date you have I would be glad to assist.
