Rube Waddell is a remarkable figure with a history of antics that makes him truly unique in the history of deadball baseball. The sorry about his break into Mack's Athletics appropriately fits into his biography. See article below.

There are many great books that capture Waddell's stories but among my favorites are the accounts by his deadball era peers in 'The glory of their time' by Lawrence Ritter.
