Just a week or so ago, with the purchase of Slocum's tennis card, I finished my big project.
Per request, here is my complete N28 and N29 collection, including original packs, both albums, and a 2nd series coupon.

276125
276126
276127
276128

I took the original pic of the big group, then came down to post and paused. Why are there only 91 cards? I thought.
It finally occurred to me... I forgot about the last pack of 15. Obviously, I have just a handful of dupes.

Congrats, I saw the Slocum pop up on eBay and remembered someone that needed it. I had a Slocum N43 card that I think I sold in a group to Henry (1880nonsports) last year. I decided to grade the ones I had left and got a PSA 5 on one, and decided to start the Registry set. Nice job getting all 100!

What a great accomplishment!! On to ...?

Well, I'm 3 cards shy of the '33 Sport Kings at this point. Anyone selling a card #1 Cobby?

Congrats Richard, nice looking run of A&Gs. Any desire to also knock out the N43s?

I like all the complimentary items, the packs, coupons, and albums. Are the Virginia Bright and Richmond Gem slide & shell packs from the right time period (as judged by tax stamp and perhaps overprint)? N28 & N29 were certainly distributed in their Richmond Straight Cut No.1 and Virginia Brights, do you believe other brands also contained N28/N29? Can you share better pictures of the packs?

I have been collecting the coupons and have a couple that advertise the 1st Series of Champions (two different colors of same coupon).

I believe there are more coupons that would advertise the Champions albums but have not located them as of yet.

Again, great looking collection!

Hi, Joe, and thanks for the questions.

The Virginia Brights packs are accurate stamp-wise and crop-wise, so it's possible that N28s or 29s actually came in them... who knows? The Richmond Gems pack is not accurate to the time period. I actually believe that it's British, as it has no tax stamp, and after the A&G "merger" in a later period. I honestly bought it because (a) I keep my raw cards stacked in cigarette packs, just like they would have in the old days, and the Gems pack is the right size, and (b) the A&G Old Planter on the front is of course the face of the company, so I had to have it!

The A&G Richmond Straight Cut tin pictured is much more common than packs. They can be had on the 'bay for not much of a price pretty much anytime. They are the perfect size, actually, for keeping my packs full of cards: 3 packs in a tin.

Before I attempt N43, I would prefer T227s (clearly, I like the multisport sets), so no, I don't see N43s in my future. Take care,

Richard

Awesome! Nice work putting it all together. I've been working on just the boxers and wrestlers for a couple years and this has given me the needed inspiration to double-down and go after the remaining cards. Thanks and congratulations.
