I recently completed my very first complete master set with all inserts and autographs.

Unfortunately (?) it's of the 1997 Fleer Metal Universe set.

It started out as a set my young son started to collect. We finished the base set with a few inserts. then I decided to get serious and go for the whole thing. While it will never have value, I will be passing it down to my son as a keepsake for him.

It wasn't too easy because some of the cards are fairly rare. Add to it that few people collected them so they didn't come up often on ebay

The distribution on some of the subsets was tough. But I got through them all.

Mining for Gold 10 1:9
Magnetic Field 10 1:12
Titanium 10 1:24
Platinum Portraits 10 1:36
Blast Furnace 12 1:48
Mother Lode 12 1:288
Emerald Autographs 6 1:480

Sooo......I've got that going for me.

I like it. Nice looking set. Would love to see a picture of the whole thing together if you have one you could share?

I've always liked fleet metal and I think it's awesome that you completed it. Did baseball has the precious metal inserts ? I know those bring a pretty penny but I always seen them in football.

Always thought that it was an interesting looking set.

For 20 years now I've been slowly working on the 1997 Pinnacle set with the Museum Collection and Artist Proof parallels.

I think that I have the complete Passport Collection and Pitcher Perfect inserts to it.
