If any of you sell stuff on eBay, I suggest you read this.

I don't know whether these things just happen to me or do other sellers also have to deal with this crap. Seems like every week, I have an eBay or Paypal issue.

I create shipping labels via eBay for most of my transactions. Once the label is created, the shipping costs are deducted from my Paypal account. In addition, I replenish my 3rd party shipping insurance thru Paypal. No big deal, have been doing it this way for years.

Two days ago I decided to do my monthly reconciliation of my checking account. So, I started going thru my bank statement and I was shocked to see over 30 PayPal deductions. It appears that the deductions that Paypal usually took out, were now been taken out from my checking account instead. Luckily, I had enough money in my checking account and I didn't get charged any overdraft fees.

I immediately called Paypal and asked them what the heck is going on. They said there was a glitch in Paypal. They were aware of the issue. So, I said then why weren't the Paypal customers notified. Their response was because we did not know which customers were affected. So, I said why didn't you contact all customers. He had no response. He also said that the issue was taken care of.

I hung up pretty pissed off. I decided to go look at my Paypal account to make sure everything looked okay. Another shocker, the exact same charges that were deducted from my checking account were also posted in my PayPal account. I called Paypal again. They said that if I opened each transaction in Paypal, you will see that the charge was actually deducted and then added back to you account. So, Paypal did not double dip into your account (his words to me). I checked some of the charges and I saw that they actually redeposited those charges back into my account. When I first looked at these transactions, it was certainly not clear to me

I no longer feel very comfortable on whether my money is being managed correctly by PayPal. I will need to be more vigilant and start watching my account more closely. Just another thing to dig into my busy schedule.

Just want you to be aware of what has happened. It might be a good idea to check your checking account or credit card statement from April 5th -11th.

Yes, they did this to me for five straight days. I got the same story from them that you did.

rhetorical question:

If Paypal didn't know which customer's accounts had been affected, then how did they know which customers to redeposit funds to? ;)

LOL. You got a good point there. But the answer is because they don't care.
