I just recently purchased New York Yankees scorecards from 1928 -1970. In the 1938 scorecard, on top of one of the score sheets was an autograph of Dutch Leonard. The Auction House where I won the scorecards claims that the autograph is legit.

I don't have any expertise in autographs and was hoping that someone on this board can give me their opinion.

Hi,
If you are referring to Emil "Dutch" Leonard, then yes this is his signature.
In 1938 Dutch Leonard was a pitcher for the Washington Senators, BTW.
Please see the attached photo of Emil Dutch Leonard's signature on a GPC for comparison.

Please note that there was another Dutch Leonard (HB "Dutch" Leonard) that pitched for the Red Sox and Tigers a couple of decades earlier. This is not his autograph, FWIW.

Thank you Scott for the confirmation. It was the Dutch Leonard from the Senators. The scorecard itself was from a NY Yankee-Washington Senator game.

Now, if one of the scorecards that I picked up has a Ruth autograph, I can retire.
