I buy modern every now and then, and have been looking at a few cards the past few days. I know that some color variations on the refractor that are tougher than others and command more money, but are the xfractors tougher to find than refractors? Or vice versa? Or just stick to postwar lol?

Thanks

X-fractors usually have a kind of grid pattern to them as well as having the refractor effect. As to which is tougher, that depends entirely on the set in question.

Thanks Jason ... the set is 2011 Topps Finest. Looking at Mike Trout cards. I did find out they are numbered to #299, so there is a finite supply.

X fractor usually are more scarce the refractor. You can even find different color x fractors . So it today's market you have to do your homework and see where the cards scarcity line up . For instance a red refractor is rarer then a regular x fractor. Then the autographed x fractor is more rare the the autographed reg refractor. If you google the set and year you could ussally find the print run and odd of each subset. I like cardboard connection for this type of info but Beckett is pretty good as well .
