Can't make it out. Milton something. Are there any other cards with this stamp? What does that do to the grade?

I would say with the paper loss and the wrinkle it wouldn't grade higher than a 1.5

The Overall card.

That's Milton Fuegy.

It's a known back stamp. He also had a brother George Fuegy who has stamped cards in circulation also. Stamps draw some people in, but they devalue a card to most. I think the previous estimate of a 1.5 grade is the best case.

Lol,

I always like it when I type a reply and by the time it posts, there are several that beat me to it.

I really like that we have such an active and helpful board, it's pretty darn awesome.

I think with the creases and paper loss, it would be either an SGC 10 (1) or 20 (1.5) or a PSA 1(MK) = 0.5. Presents nicely, but does not need to be graded.

I knew that name sounded familiar: it was this thread (http://www.net54baseball.com/showthread.php?t=211063).

I think it's really interesting and adds provenance to a card. Grading companies do not agree!

I agree Slacks. Make you wonder what kind of collection the kid had.

What I wanted to know is what would happen to the grade because of the stamp. Ex: If it was a PSA 8, how many grades lower would it get because of the stamp?

In theory if the card is an 8 except for ONLY the backstamp shouldn't it grade an 8 (MK)?

Either a PSA 8(MK) or a PSA 6...I believe the standard rule of thumb is to knock the grade down by 2 because of the stamp.

MK is one of the qualifiers that they can choose to not remove, even if you select No Qualifiers. For Registry users, it counts as a 2 point loss on grades 3-9. For a PSA 2, it counts as a 1, and for a 1(MK), I think it counts as a 0.5.

If you stop and think in the middle of posting something you just might find you are late to the party. Stamps on cards are cool to some, including myself.

Is that true? So a card that is otherwise a 9 but has a stamp on it could theoretically get a 7 grade? That seems pretty generous.

Yes, it would be a 9(MK) which would count as a 7 for set registry purposes, if it was Mint or Gem Mint otherwise. I cracked an SGC 20 out of the slab and I'll send it to PSA because it has a mark on it, and I think it would be a 6 or 7(MK). SGC is much harder than PSA on marks and miscuts because of PSA's use of qualifiers.
