Trying to get into Goldin 15 minutes before initial bids need to be – anybody else not being able to access? I got in, was able to do a search and then it just froze up. Backed out – can't get back in. Other sites and internet seem to be fine. Again wondering if anyone else is running into the same issue?

Yep, same here - I wonder if its heavy traffic right before their 10 pm deadline for initial bids? Not good!

Wow, 9PM central – locked out. Tried to get a couple bids in for initials.

Oh well, probably my bad for not doing it sooner .. but never thought this would happen either

They've said initial bids will now go until 11 pm because of the issue; it's working now, albeit slowly for me at least....

Could log in but still haven`t been able to put in an initial bid, will hang in until 11:30 I guess.

I agree, it sucks when a person can't bid with an auction house run by a guy on the Mastro shill bidder list.:D Also nice to see they are an advertiser on here again.

It's back up but it's saying 19 hours until bid buy time. ?????

Site seems to be working now, but the countdown clock has 19 hours left on it for regular bidding - huh??

I called them, they said initial bidding now goes until 6pm tmw...hard close at 11pm. I guess the 20 minute glitch requires the auction to go another day?

I just talked to them. The auction is open for initial bids till 6PM tomorrow due to the computer problem.

I got the following email.
James

Due to circumstances out of our control, a server crashed at 9:30pm, hundreds of people were unable to get their bids in before initial bidding ended.

To be fair to EVERYONE, we have extended the auction until
SUNDAY January 29 6PM EST.

WE WILL HAVE SPECIAL CLOSING RULES - READ CAREFULLY

You must get initial bids in by 6PM EASTERN Sunday.

We will go on the 15 minute rule until 11pm EASTERN. WE WILL BE DOING A HARD CLOSE AT 11PM EASTERN so as not to cause anyone to stay up too late Sunday night.

This means at 11pm ALL LOTS WILL END
(if they have not ended earlier due to 15 minute rule).

We hope you find this a fair solution and it is not too much of an inconvenience.

We will be closing the office for the night at 1130pm eastern tonight and will open for calls tomorrow at 11 am.

Bidding is open now and will be open all day tomorrow.

We expect the site to be very slow between now and 3 am eastern. It will be down for approximately 15 minutes at 3 am and than once up should be fixed.

Not the best look for them, but they did the right thing for their sellers and bidders that could not get to it.

I will assume they will be switching their hosting company next week as that failure on the server hosts part is unforgivable.

Good solution. Not that I am anticipating buying anything.

Sounds an awful lot like REA new rules.

Let's see if they adopt this "computer glitch" going forward

There was a hardware failure that caused the outage last night. We did all we could to get the computer working last night but obviously could not. We did a repair at 3am last night and are anticipating no issues tonight.

Thanks for the updates. As far as I'm concerned the outage and timing was unfortunate, but it happened. Great job in quickly addressing the issue and communication (I got a few emails through the night on the issue and progress). Obviously an awkward situation to face and address keeping most/everyone happy, but I think they did the right thing and extending it as a result of.

These types of failures always seem to happen on the final night of bidding. Real failures or DOS attacks?

Did any of you get yellow pages with a bunch of text when you tried to bid?

The same thing happened to me yesterday when I tried to go to the next page of listings. I had a couple bids on earlier and didn't try to bid yesterday.
