Hi Guys:

If you are selling on ebay and have a BIN or best offer and you set the do not accept offers under a certain price, do you see the offers that come in even if ebay rejects them because you set the amount higher?

I have made two offers that were rejected right away. I can contact the seller off ebay, but want to know if he has seen my rejected offers on ebay or not before I contact him directly.

Please advise.

Thanks,

Fred

Thanks,

From my experience, the seller doesn't see denied offers or get notified about them. I have this set for a few of my items, and I only see offers that go above the mark.

Thanks for the reply, but how do you know IF you received offers under your set price? If not, you would not have received the offers if ebay does indeed allow you to see them

I guess I should have asked, has anyone gotten notification of an offer under the limit they set?

Yes a seller can check his listing and he can see any auto rejected offers and the user name which allows them to contact the buyer if they wanted too. I have contacted buyers that made auto rejected offers before.

On the seller listings he can see 'see offers' or something to that effect even if they are auto rejected.

I have also been contacted before by sellers on a card that i previously made an offer for but was auto rejected/declined

A quick trick...if you include a message the seller will always get a notification even if they have set limits and automatic rejections.

Thanks Jake and Jeff!

I just checked the Canadian ebay where they still show offers and my offers show up there, so I assumed the seller could see them if they popped up there.

I do not see auto rejected offers because I have a certain price I want/need to get. I'm not interested in playing the lowball game so it just eliminates all of the hassle involved with lowballers!

Except Bob if they include a message. Unless eBay has changed this, that was the only way I knew if an offer was made but not automatically rejected.

FWIW, I used to also set automatic rejections for the same reasons that you have. Recently I changed that and now just accept all offers. I have not gotten too many ridiculous offers, but have definitely made more sales.

I occasionally set minimum offer, but even when I do I am able to see auto reject offers. I am not sure why others can't. I don't get an email notification but if you go into your listing to view offers they are there.
