Hey Guys,

I am a PSA member, but I have only ever sent them baseball cards (no autos).

I have a ton of signed cards that from the steroid era that I am considering getting slabbed to make them easier to sell. I have looked at the PSA website and it is really confusing to me. I was expecting there would be some cheap specials, but I couldn't find any.

I know there must be ways to get cards slabbed cheaply, because there are a bunch of signed cards in PSA holders on ebay for $30 and below (like this one):

http://www.ebay.com/itm/JAY-BUHNER-MARINERS-CANNONS-HAND-SIGNED-CARD-PSA-DNA-AUTO-1989-PROCARDS-553-/371828344079?hash=item5692b2450f:g:HCgAAOSwd4tULRZ d

I have a lot of cards like this one. Stars and HOFers that aren't worth too much, but I know it would be easier to sell them if they were authenticated.

Sorry for the long post. If anyone can tell how to do this, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

It is confusing, I will try to make this short and clear.
PSA offers 2 options, one results in a blue label and the other a red label.
Blue Label;
Use this page to determine the player's price. http://www.psacard.com/Fees/Autographs/
and this form to submit; http://www.psacard.com/content/pdf/DNA-Encapsulation-Submission-2017.pdf

The blue label will only say Trading Card as they don't authenticate the card.

Red Label; authenticates card and autograph (if auto was aftermarket), will have set info on the label
To see pricing; https://www.psacard.com/onlinesubmissioncenter/ click 'Card and Autograph Dual Services Pricing. Pricing here is by value only, not specific player.
To use the automated submission form; https://www.psacard.com/onlinesubmissioncenter/ click Build your submission.
Follow the options; Click 'Grading'
Then choose from
No Autograph authentication (this is the regular card submission option)
Dual Service-(No Grade To Card Or Autograph)
Dual Service-(Card Grade Only)
Dual Service-(Autograph Grade Only)
Dual Service-(Card and Autograph Grade)

The Dual Service options are all autograph and card authentication. You then have to decide what you want graded.

They run specials 1-2 months per year. Occasionally down to $12-15 per card for lower value autos.

Luke,

I have sent PSA/DNA over 250 cards over the years and like the previous poster mentioned, they occasionally do run specials but not very often. Forget looking each player up. Just give this an easy test drive:

#1 Go to: http://www.psacard.com and log in
#2 Top left under their numbers counter click on: "Services"
#3 Under Trading Card Grading click on the blue button: "See Pricing & Submit"
#4 Click the Blue button that says: "Start"
#5 Click the "Next" button to start a new submission (even though this is a test run), you can just try this without submitting, they would never charge you unless you went through inputting your Visa etc so no worries
#6 Check "Regular Sized Cards" then click "Next"
#7 Check "Grading" then click "Next"

Thats it, on the screen you will see ALL of their options for Red Label. You always want Red Label as Blue does not even authenticate the card and only says "Trading Card". Red Label all the way as they can someday be input into Registry Sets and Blue Label can't. Blue Labels are for those who want to throw money away.

Right now it is $20 per REGARDLESS of subject as long as you value the card with auto less than $250. $25 per if it is over that amount and more if you have a HUGE value card or want them quicker. Just for comparison, I sent 1 card to get graded and auto graded on 12/1/16 and paid $25 plus $18 to get it back to me, it just hit on their website and is on the way back to me so that took about 4 to 5 weeks. Normal really for them regardless of what their "turnaround times" say! :)

Good luck and feel free to PM me any specifics.

Peace, Mike

PS I normally do not just send 1 auto card at a time like above but it was a rare find for my #1 Registry Signed 1961 Fleer Basketball Auto Set. Only need 4 now!!!! :)

You need to call them and ask them what kind of deal they will give you. I have negotiated several deals for $8/card with a blue flip.
