Not the Pedro anyhow.

Not with a height of 6-2. :)

If I were cynical I would think the seller is hoping someone thinks it is Pedro. $1000 for a minor league common of a guy who won less than 10 games in the majors does seem steep.

But it is Pedro. Just not the HOFer Pedro. Kinda like when Rick Probstein sold the Bill Russell auto and didn't mention it was the baseball player and not the HOF basketball player of the same name. It's all in the marketing.;)

In legal terms, even if there is no overt misrepresentation, I think it's misleading.

Peter did you take into account that maybe the card has special meaning to the owner and the price would really need to excite them, otherwise he'd be very happy to just hold onto it.:)

the crazy thing is that a legit 1990 Great Falls Dodgers Pedro PSA 10 can be had for < $50. I was almost fooled around 10 years ago but I had to do some research when I looked at that guy on the '89 Charleston card and thought, "now that ain't Pedro!"

For a while during his Expos days, I remember THE Pedro being referred to as Pedro J. Martinez in papers and boxscores - those references stopped once the imposter was out of baseball.

BTW - not sure how a 10 has so much white visible on those green borders??

It looks like Pedro's 1991 RC is among the most massively produced ever, and his 1992s are perhaps not quite as abundant but still dirt cheap. What Pedro cards, if any, are considered desirable? He doesn't appear to have a 93 Finest Refractor for example.

This is the only Pedro I'd ever consider owning. You're right though, his 1991-92 "rookie" cards simply aren't nice enough to own.

Ah it is Pedro A. Martinez. At least the MLB cards there was no mistaking it. Unlike the Adrian Peterson issue in football.

I'm taking bids on this authentic Mike Piazza rookie card.

I've also got a great deal on this Bob Gibson card.

I had a really beat Sam Adams football card that I pretty much skinned and carved up and glued to a Sam Adams beer bottle. After all it did say "Brewmaster -Patriot" and the player played for the Patriots.

Only a couple of my friends got the joke.

Back in the early 1990s, the Padres had Pedro Martinez, and the Chargers had DT Reggie White. Problem was, they were the "Other" Pedro and Reggie :(
