One of the true American heroes, John Glenn, died today at the age of 95 in Columbus, Ohio.

Fighter pilot WWII (59 combat missions 2 DFC's) and Korean War (90 combat missions, flew with Ted Williams), test pilot and record holder, original Mercury 7 astronaut, oldest man to go into space at 77, longest serving U.S. Senator from the state of Ohio, married 73 years. What a life.

What a life. Those early astronauts had huge huge stones. When you go to the Smithsonan and see what they came home in its stunning. What bravery. What a life. I'd like to go through the people running our government today (or next year, not picking sides here) and count how many of them are made out of the same stuff as John Glenn. Of course the answer is a resounding 0.

A high-class guy his entire life.

The country -even the world - could use more like him!
