1-Alabama
2-Clemson
3-Ohio State
4-Washington

'also-rans': Penn State; Michigan; Wisconsin; Oklahoma

from what the 'paid' analysts said - one thought Conference
Championships would mean more and Ohio State would drop
out replaced by Penn State; the rest agree with what the
committee decided.

Other than that, I did not hear anyone saying Michigan, Wisconsin
or Oklahoma should be in.

Penn State has a nice fallback position - The Rose Bowl

What do you think? Did They Get it Right?

Exactly how I thought it should be. Right teams, good matchups, good order.

I concur, although the PSU/OSU scenario makes conference standings and championship game seem rather moot outside of the conference.

I kind of look at those as a sort of a mini elimination process.

The conference championship game was the most important part of the picture, just not the only one. How else do you justify PSU jumping Michigan when Michigan beat them by 39 points? tOSU had the better record and better resume including 3 wins over top 10 teams including 2 on the road. There was no way that tOSU was not making the playoffs.

PSU was really only competing against Washington and they came up short. Perhaps PSU should have played the 1st half like they did the 2nd against Wisconsin. Or been competitive against Michigan. Or not lost to a 4 loss Pitt team. In the end, there was too many holes in PSU's resume to make the playoffs.
