I had the pleasure of meeting Eddie and his family in Seattle a few years back. Eddie was invited by the Mariners to throw out the first pitch at a 'Turn Back The Clock' game and a few of us enjoyed a dinner with Eddie the night before as he entertained us with many stories. He was incredibly sharp as he rattled through the roster of teammates from 70 year earlier. Congratulations to Eddie for attaining the magic century mark:)

Echoing Mark's comments, we had a special time at the Mariners TBTC tribute to the Seattle Rainiers a few years back.

Eddie, his wife MaryLee and the rest of his family are wonderful, gracious folks.

Ed recounted for us, batter by batter, a high school game 75 years or so prior, where he faced another Oklahoma legend: Harry "The Cat" Brecheen. Wow!

Here's a pre-game shot of Ed, and one of that night's "Rainiers" starter, Felix Hernandez.

Happy 100th Ed!

That is great stuff, guys. I too have had the privilege of hearing some old timers (and many of us are, or will be, old timers soon anyway) playing days stories against some of the famous players of yesteryear.

Just heard that Eddie Carnett passed away last night.

For those who wonder, Bobby Doerr is now the oldest living player. Turned 98 on April 7th
