I've got a lot of items displayed in my home office that are in "uv protected" cases (mostly plastic, some glass). Has anyone ever tested to see how good this protection actually is? I am not too worried, since I have heavy curtains and a bookcase in front of the window, and the lights are only on for a few hours each day. I was just wondering if the advertised protection is really that effective.

Good question. Though the commercially sold UV protection is scientifically tested to determine how much UV it blocks-- so they know what percentage it blocks. It's usually like 97% to 99%. How that relates to practice is your question and a good one.

I had some pictures framed of my son as team usa batboy when frank robinson was manager and the whole team signed a newprint picture. It was in his room for at least a few years. Suppose to be uv protectant glass. After a few years things began to fade
