Show your fave Goudey...And I wonder how many of our members use their favorite card, or one of their favorites, as their avatar?

My favorite is either my Ruth or Collins. They have both been my only avatar picture.

I bought this card back in 1989 as a fifteen year old kid. Still have it - and love it, even though I don't collect Goudeys. The color is just outstanding. One of my all-time favs!

Yes, some Goudey love on this board!

My all time favorite. But given the lead-off hitters on this thread, I almost feel ashamed it's not signed.

That said, I think the Richards card is one of the prettiest commons in existence.

I use my best card as my avatar. Sorry I can't follow that comment with a post of a Goudey, but I don't own any (so far). :(

Well, since the Richards and Hack were already shown (which are two of my favorites that I own as well), here's another one of my favorite images. The signature is a bonus!

After looking at all these Goudys
I feel like going out and buying a high
grade common just to have one. I agree
some of the ones posted are beautiful.
I'll stay away from Ruth and Gehrig though.

Nice cards. Those are also the only two Goudeys in my collection, but I couldn't get the image to load. The Ruth 144 is in my personal top 5 all time favorite images on a baseball card. The definition of iconic in my opinion.

Here's a page of '33s, including some of my favorite images in that set. Others have mentioned the Paul Richards, but the Lonnie Warneke and Mule Haas look pretty nice too.

The purple Gehringer is my favorite too (also love the avatar Sam). His penmanship is a thing of perfection too, so I love them in combo.

On September 8 1933, (Shibe Park vs Cleveland pitcher Wes Ferrell) Jimmy Foxx hit his 42nd home run of the year. 7th inning, no outs, with Mickey Cochrane on base.
This epic feat was recorded by the previous owner of my card.

This likely won't move the needle much here, but this card isn't ofered very often and is a signed rookie card of someone I believe should be in the Hall Of Fame.

Saw the Lombardi in person and just, wow! Had to have it (not this one, mine's a little worse). It just seems like what a baseball card should be. These and Cracker Jacks just seem such a cut above the rest. I just wish the 34 set had a Ruth, so I made one.

That is very cool. I have had a few cards over the years which were used as scorecards. I always think they are neat.

That Dempsey looks like the Ruth counter display. Does it have the piece on the back so that it can stand up?

When my fourth grade classmate brought a 1933 Goudey Jimmie Foxx to school, I was mesmerized by it. I made a very generous offer of current mid-1960's cards and went home with the Foxx. I haven't been the same since.

I was fortunate to complete the set in 1982. I wouldn't be able to touch it with modern prices.
