Hi-

I recently acquired two uniform sets (shirt and pants) with Waco on the front of both jerseys. Each has a number on the back but neither shirt nor either pair of pants has any manufacturer tagging left. They appear to be a larger size than high school uniforms, but I am not certain of that. Here are my questions.

Are these high school or college uniforms? Or, could they be from one of the minor league teams in Waco? I tried searching for images of the Waco Pirates, Cubs, and Dons, but there were not a lot of photos. I am also uncertain of the uniform's precise age as the tags are missing, but my guess was mid 30s at the very earliest and early to mid 50s at the latest. Is this accurate?

I will try to post better pictures later today and I really appreciate any information that you are able to provide.

Thanks in advance,
Alan

Colors suggest it could be from Waco Army Airfield from the 1940s. This was a pilot training installation during WW II and most if not all of these facilities had teams. Of interest to note is that Tiger catcher Birdie Tebbets was a player manager on this team. You might have better luck in finding photos if you scope your search along those lines.

Thanks Dave! I did a preliminary search based on your suggestion and while I have not found any confirmation, there are some links that might prove promising. I really appreciate the help.

One picture I found on eBay has the team wearing a WAFS uniform but some of the players are wearing Waco Dons uniforms. Mine look very similar to the Dons except for the Dons piping and lettering in the neck area.
