View Full Version : T206 Question - Very Dissapointed

I'm certainly no expert on T206, but can't the year of the card be ascertained by the back of the card?

For example; if the back has "150 Subjects", isn't it a 1909 issue?

Conversely; "350 Subjects" a 1910 issue and "350-460 Subjects" or "460 Subjects" a 1911 issue?

I've also noticed that SGC graded cards include the specific year on their labels, but PSA does not. Does anyone know the reason for this?

Wow! I posted this thread five days ago and not a single response.

I realize that my second question of why PSA doesn't incude the years on their T206 gradings is one that only someone with "inside knowledge" could answer accurately.

However, I actually thought that with all the T206 knowledge on this board, the first part of my question would receive an answer rather quickly.

I thought that the whole purpose of this board was to promote communication, knowledge and camaraderie. Perhaps I was wrong.

Hi charles!
Sorry.. i didnt see your first post but Ive sent you the Scot Reader document ' Inside T206' that breaks the dates down and pretty much everything else you would ever want to know about the set.
I think you had the answer in your first post but Scot breaks it down better than I could ever explain or remember.

Thanks Donnie.

Although I didn't receive what you sent me, I found the Scot Reader document online. It is very informative.

Hi Charles,

I don't think the exact dates of printing for each series has been proven
which could possibly be the reason PSA doesn't put the year on them. For
instance estimates for the 350 series are from late 1909 to early 1911.

As Donnie said you can find info on that in scot's Inside t206 article.

There is also some detailed info about the series and print groups on T206resource.com

It starts with print group 1 and you can continue through print group 5
by clicking on the next button.

I sent or attempted to send it to your email address on file. I was trying to do it from my phone so I probably flubbed it up. Glad you found it.

Thanks Donnie.
