Can anyone tell me if there is a book about exhibits? Hopefully it would cover baseball, football, basketball, boxing, wrestling etc... If there is no book, is there a site that covers information such as how to spot fakes, checklists etc... Not to concerned about price valuations, more just general information.

Thanks,
Mark

My book covers the boxing cards exhaustively:

So far as I know, there is no single book that covers all of the sports.

You can't go wrong with Old Cardboard (http://www.oldcardboard.com/w/exhibits/exhibits-gallery.asp?cardsetID=1588) as a place to start.

They have checklists for some of the exhibit issues.

Somebody SHOULD do a book about them--they were around from 1921 through 1966 as regular issues, had much higher image quality than virtually anything else at the time, and had innumerable key cards within their sets over the years: Foxx, Terry, Simmons, Grove, Gehrig and other major league HOF'er rookies, the '39 Gehrig, extremely rare '23-24 Exhibit Ruth, tough to find in nice condition '39-'46 Ted Williams number 9 shows, etc. Not to forget the very tough Rizzo and Bobby Richardson. Adam???

Good post,

Larry

Adam, does your book cover any of the wrestling?
