I know we have talked about the very difficult 1952 Bowman Large #144 Jim Lansford. Short printed, Rookie card, and the last card in the set. The Standard Catalog "values" the card at $3,000 in NM, the most expensive card in the set. Maybe the most expensive card from the '50s I don't know?
Last week during an eBay 10X "bucks" promotion I was able to negotiate for the ultra rare '52 Bowman #144 "Medium" Jim Lansford. A '52 Bowman Large card trimmed to the size of a standard baseball card:D
Take home price was $65 including shipping minus $6.50 in eBay bucks so $58.50 for this card or 1.95% book which is probably full retail price LOL!
Here's a picture of my three cards, including the "medium". It might be a 1 of 1 LOL!

1952 Bowman Large is my favorite football set. I need 7 more expensive short printed cards, including Lansford, to complete the set. Many of mine are VG or EX, but I have a few like this example that I hope to upgrade some day.

Here's my Lansford, right from a pack I bought as a kid. Sure thought it would grade higher when I sent it in as the corners are pretty darn nice.
