What Net.54 dealers will be setting up at "THE NATIONAL" this year? Booth numbers and inventory would be helpful! I'll be in booth 1513 across from the Corporate booths. We have pre 1950 sports equipment, boxing posters programs and cards, 8 - 10 notebooks of 1930's - 40's non sports cards, pennants and candy bars that cost $1.00 each or 2 for free!
Thanks, Sam Majors

I will be at Booth 141 and 145 facing the case break area.

I would love to list what I am taking with me but rather than get chastised for doing so, I can send you a select list of my inventory, which is vast. I will have that list later this week and will have it at my booth, We can only showcase so much; this list will provide you the opportunity to see if I carry anything you collect or want to see and it will be at the show.

I can give you a little teaser regarding just a few of the new acquisitions this year: over 400 P2 pins including 80-85 HOF including 4 Cobbs and rare or tough ones; over 400 new Zeenuts (I now have over 800) including stars, most Seattle players, and Jewish players); Every Yankee yearbook, Mets, NY Giants, Brooklyn Dodgers yearbooks and programs; Many World Series programs and many Super Bowl programs and tickets (have 2 and 3 with the tickets); and most Super Bowl press pins.

See you at the show.

P.S. I will list NO more items that I am taking with me to the show. My teaser was intended to show what kind of items I buy for resale. It was a response to a question from a Net 54 participant.

I will be there - Booth # 453 - with my usual and "unusual" eclectic grouping of 19th century to turn-of-century sports cards and memorabilia and Americana/ non sports. I have a nice grouping of 19th century to 1920s Boxing stuff...some cards and some memorabilia.

The memorabilia side concentrates more on the historical and advertising & display side, further concentrating mostly on "smalls"...all over the place, including figural items, cigar artwork, labels & boxes, cardboard advertising fans; a nice 1888 parlor game; etc.

On the card side I will have a large grouping of N172 Old Judges, almost all nice images, although technical grades will range from SGC 10/ PSA 1 through SCG 84/ PSA 7, plus I will have a couple of N173 OJ Cabinets and a couple of N690 Kalamazoo Bats. I will also have some larger and the largest size women baseball cabinets. I will have several eclectic Wagner items. Plus I will have a few T3s, including Cobb & Lajoie; some S81 baseball silks; and some assorted E & D cards.

Please stop by & say hello. I will also have complimentary candy (mostly chocolates).

Robert, if I could have been lucky enough to make the National this year, I would be running to your booth the second the show opened. Your auctions have nearly single-handedly produced my 1947 Menko JCM-44 Ted Williams back collection. I have amassed 24 total cards in 13 variations, only missing 1 that I know of. Oh well, I will keep watching your auctions.

Good luck at the National.

Hi...I am Larrie Dean of Dean's House of Cards (NOT Dean's Cards)! We will be set up in Booths 2301, 2305, 2400 and 2404 which located are near the autograph area. We have just completed restocking our "set builders" inventory, and so, at least at the beginning of the show all cards will be in numerical order and by year. Stop by early for best selection. Mention this post for an additional 10% discount! At least stop by and say hello. For questions call 804-833-3087.

We will be set up in booth 2036. Please stop by to say hello.

We are a VERY late add to the show (as in yesterday!).
Highlights of our inventory will be a menu from Toots Shores
restaurant signed by a long list of very big HOFers (Cobb, Young, Speaker to name a few). The significance of where this item was signed is that it
was in celebration of the 75th anniversary of the National League.

Also a ball signed by Cobb, Speaker, Collins and Kid Gleason (The first 3 being all together in their final season of their careers and Gleason being a coach of the A's).

Lots of Goudeys, Goudey premiums, high end and not so high end vintage autos + a great supply of commons from 51 thru the 60s for set builders. Lots of other fun stuff. Looking forward to meeting N54 members and just being there!

I will have a mix of PSA and SGC graded stuff highlights being a 1967 Topps Tom Seaver PSA 8.5 rookie 50/50 centered and a 1939 Play Ball Ted Williams PSA 6.5 rookie "Sample" stamped back, very rare card it's the 2nd highest graded (highest is a PSA 7) only 6 cards have been graded with a "sample" back as compared to 867 graded of the regular rookie card. I will also have some wholesale lots, a little unopened 80's wax. A near complete 749/752 1971 Topps Baseball PSA 8 set missing only T.Munson and 2 commons the GPA on the set is 7.99 and it's currently #19 on the Registry. Also a complete 176 card 1912 Obak set low grade poor to Vg/Ex. Also a complete 1965 Philadelphia Gun James Bond PSA Registry set, has 6 PSA 10's currently ranked #3 on the PSA registry GPA is 8.97. Stop by and say hello. I will also have fliers and dealer contracts for the October 14-16th CSA Chantilly Show.

*** I am also looking for roughly 80 more low grade T206's for my 12 year old son's set, if you have any extra's bring them along, I posted my want list in the BST section ***

We are leaving for New York tomorrow and heading down to AC on Wednesday. I asked my wife if she would wait in the PSA line for me on Thursday with a 1/2 dozen submissions but I got a glance and an eyeroll.

In anticipation of the big show, I did a quick analysis of 306 dealers represented on the NSCC webite:
36 states plus 1 from China and 2 from Canada are represented.

Highlights By State
NJ - 40
NY - 34
FL - 30
PA - 30

44% of the dealers are from those 4 states

34% are (104 dealers) from NJ/NY/PA

If you add in the 15 from VA, then the top 5 states represent 50% of the dealers.

The top 12 states represent 75% of the dealers
The top 20 cover 90% of the dealers

I have a half dozen upgrades that I am looking for to competely upgrade my 54 & 55 sets. If I find a really nice 55 & 54 Bowman set at a value, I might take the plunge on those. However, my experience has been that I usually don't find a lot of great deals at this show - especially on Thursday. At any rate, I enjoy walking the floor with my boys - as the $20 admission is akin to admission at Cooperstown to look at the awesome pieces on display. If I can get my submissions graded without waiting 2 hours in line and avoid shipping/insurance, then admission will pay for itself.

If you need me to scout the floor for you or get any pictures, hit me up on PM and I will do what I can to hunt it down for you. I have already highlighted familiar Net54 names on the dealer sheet and I will make a point to see your material.

Looking forward to it!

Brand new acquisitions that I will be bringing to the show: Picked up 700 to 1,000 1963 Topps Baseball Peel offs. Have quantity on many numbers. Check with me if you are looking for quantity of a player, with or without text on the back or blank backs. I will have both with me, but if you want quantity, check with me to see if I have enough to cover your needs at the show. Dealer and collector discounts. Several HOF stars, semi stars and commons. Almost 100% are gradable.

Also, picked up 1956 T and 1959 T baseball sets; sets are nice and I can cut you a deal.

You can find me, along with Kevin Keating's fabulous autographs, at #s 1901-1905. I've pulled some really primo Walter material from my collection and from the estate, including a gorgeous S-81 silk and some postcards, photos, and other items originating from his scrapbooks.

Many T206 errors, misprints, missing colors and singles, t205 & T207 spectacular cards plus others from the same era.

Forget to bring our signed Livingston T206 :)

Really enjoyed opening day at the show. Saw so many folks that I've dealt with over the years.

The best moment
Chris Browne, Adam Goldenberg, Johnnie V and Pete Gustafson all appear at once time - It as like a T206 addicts anonymous reunion. Fantastic!

The "best sellers"
Surprisingly 1986-87 basketball. I can't believe how many folks wanted to buy my cards (or maybe I priced them too cheaply). Also 1952 topps and bowman signed cards were hot. Honorable mention to a lot of people who wanted our Ruth-Cobb-Speaker ball and Magie error - just not at our prices :)

My favorite quirky moment so far...
I put out a "show special" 48 1958 topps cards including around 10 HOFers for $40. By any measure it was a good buy. So this guy flips through them a bit, contemplates it a bit more and then puts down the stack. I casually ask him if there was something in particular he was looking for. To which he replies "filling a few slots in my '58 set'. Being a collector, I empathize and say, why don't you pull out the ones you need and I'll break the lot and sell them to you individually. He smiles, flips through the lot and pulls out 5 cards. I ask him if he needs those cards, he replies yes...but he's not looking to buy them right now.

As he walks away two funny things happen, his wife starts berating him telling him that he's so weird and asking why would he waste his time and my time. Well said dear lady - precisely what I was thinking. The second was a dealer who was watching him thumb through the stack rapidly whips out $40 and scoops the lot without saying a word.

Enjoy the national!!
