If you have a '54 Topps Mantle, it is priceless :D

I'm no fortune teller, but I don't see this thread lasting very long here :D

Do you mean the 52 Topps card?

I can't answer for anything pre 1980s... that's when I was a kid and I started collecting. It was THE card back then, just as it is now. I do know Mantle was the most popular player in the 50s, and that the hobby grew considerably throughout both the 50s and the 60s. His rookie card coinciding with the first Topps set was just a match made in heaven.

what I meant, too much multitasking. deleted original message.

wish I could figure out how to fix typos in title of a post. I've been making a habit of it.

There was a 54 Topps Mantle issued in a Sports Illustrated magazine but I have not seen one for sale separated from the other cards in the magazine.

You have to pay for the premium membership. That allows you access to the "Advanced" features. You also get access to the premium member forum where you can talk bad about people.

I believe the OP is talking about the card that Upper Deck made to be compatible with the 1994 Topps Archives '54 set.

You can change the title of a thread by hitting the edit button as normal and looking near there again for a "go advanced" button, it is in plain sight..and by hitting that you can edit the title of a thread.

ps...woops, didn't see David answered, thanks David.
