What exactly are these people bidding on? Can't they read the description?

Black Swamp Find?

I've given up trying to understand what's going on with some Ebay auctions. This guy has several similar auctions where he lists "Black Swamp find cut card autos". Is he banking on somebody being stupid enough to bid and not look at the item description?

When I see something like this:

This appears to be an OLD REPRINT of a 1910 E98 "BLACK SWAMP FIND" CUT AUTO CARD OF HONUS WAGNER IN POOR CONDITION. BOTH THE CARD AND AUTO BEING SOLD AS REPRINTS. YOU BID, YOU PAY. CARDS FOUND AS PART OF AN ESTATE SALE. BEING SOLD AS REPRINTS TO ABIDE BY EBAY REGULATIONS.

I want to punch somebody. You're selling it as a reproduction because that's what it is. How old could the reprint be? The Black Swamp find happened fewer than five years ago.

This makes me want to take another shower.

If you look at his feedback (completed items), he does quite well selling reprints. I don't know if it's enough to pay his bills, but it's at least a nice income supplement. I'm not saying it's right (or wrong), but he definitely has a customer base.

". . .got I in an estate sale" seems to be the buzzwords now. See it over and over. Nonsense.
