I've read and seen different articles and opinions on autographs of Roy Campanella after his accident but I have a question I can't seem to find the answer to.

I have seen a number of Dodger old timers type balls with most of the same guys on them. Every once in a while Roy Campanella will be included. I know he used an auto pen and a "signing machine" to aid in his signature but could these devices be used on a ball? I thought they would only work on flat items. Are these autographs on balls a stamp (they don't appear to be) or perhaps a ghost signer?

Just curious if they are really signed by him or if anyone has more info on this topic.

I heard that they would have the cover of the baseballs removed to help Roy sign them and then would stich the ball back together.

If it is anything but a scribble, then it was probably his wife.

Is there any video of him signing with his auto pen machine?
