I know this is a Wheaties issue, but can you guys give me a bit of background and an idea on population and demand for it? Also wonder if this will get a number grade or if it will get an authentic. What are the parameters these grading companies use for the Wheaties vs say a bazooka mantle?

With the rough cut I doubt any of the big 3 would assign it a number grade. SGC might, but it would likely be a 1. I'm wanting to say they originally had a black/blue frame that if cut along would leave it the approximate dimensions of a playing card (slightly smaller). If cut straight, yes PSA and SGC will assign the issue a number grade considering it meets the other requirements, but with the waves to the cut on this example I just don't see it happening. Relatively speaking the card isn't that rare, and considering the condition I'd guess it'd be in the $35-$50 range. Could be right, could be wrong. It is cool though, and it is a playing days issue of the Splinter so nice pickup. Also, your phone is about to die.

Rarely is an lol literal, but your phone battery comment. I've recently started posting my collection on Instagram and it is full of young guys collecting new stuff. I'm trying to make them see that the new auto-cards and patch-cards with "limited" numbering are garbage. I've been able to convert a few, and have become the "go-to vintage guy" for questions. This young man asked me about the card and I gave him a similar answer, though nowhere near as thorough. I wanted to show him how great and knowledgeable the guys on this forum are, so I posted the question for him.

This is a 1952 card, and all of the cards had those rounded corners. They were cut out of the box, and yours is a pretty bad cut. The box was blue, so sometimes you see a blue border around these cards.

Williams lists in Krause at $100 for NM, $50 in EX, and $30 in VG. I have always been able to sell these cards quickly even when they are beat up and miscut. I would think you could easily get $30 on ebay. As far as grading, I don't know.
