Hi Mark,

Sorry to hear you had that problem. Not sure what happened on your end but I had new bidders a couple of minutes before the 8 pm est. Always remember you need just one bid in to bid allowed in extended bidding, once in extended bidding the whole auction is open for bidding.

Hi Lee,

Just wanted you to know that I had the same problem as Mark. I went to your site at 7:45 Eastern time to place some bids. There was a header that said the auction was now in extended bidding. I tried to place a few bids anyway but was redirected to a page with your auction rules. No big deal for me, but if others were having the same problem the you may have left some money on the table. You may want to look into it, maybe the settings for the auction time was not what you wanted.

Best regards,

Joe

Lee,

I did not have any bids in, but I'm pretty sure I checked before 8:00 p.m. EST,also, and it said, "it was in extended bidding"

I,won a couple of things, but I had my bids in early. However at about 6:45 pm central, I checked in to see how things were going and it showed it was in extended bidding.

I was also surprised by how early it went to extended. BTW, nice auction! I was very pleased to cross this one off my list:

If I read the auction rules correctly, any bid you make automatically qualifies you for the right of extended bidding.

Therefore, and with Lee's auction this is possible, bid on 1-2 cheap items you are comfortable with and that way you are guaranteed the right to be involved in extended bidding. If you do that, then you have no reason to complain and this, just like on EBay, prevents you from any quirks which might involve preventing you from late bidding

Well said Rich. Place holder bids are a great idea and i usually place several at the start of an auction so i can see how things shake out and that way I am not disappointed at the end

The problem has been found and fixed. As pointed out above you can always place one bid in early to be eligible for extended bidding.

I will be set up at the Chantilly Show in April accepting consignments, stop by and say "Hello" if you are attending.

Thanks and sorry for the mix up,
