I got one and it was a long time goal of mine to get her autograph. Being named in it was just icing on the cake. The poor coloring is from the photo not the actual item. And this one is not for sale :).

Missed out on this one, it has my last name in it :(:(

Wish I knew where it was so I had an opportunity to purchase it.

This was a great signature of Roger Maris so I had to have it. I was born in 1964 so I just took a photo of me at that age and stuck it over the other kid. I like it!

Just remembered I have this in my exemplar files.
It is inscribed to Ben Simon, that was my dad's name.

I think it's great when I can find personalized items that I did not obtain. Picked this one up a few months ago. Although Andy is not my full name (and this might actually say Randy), it's the closest I have found :)

I don't go by Mike and sometimes ignore people when called it. I did not get this for the name inscription, but for resale.

Tooooo cool David!!!!!!!!! That is a great piece!!! I had a chance to buy a Ruth ball made out to "Mike Sansbury" from Ruth that was reasonably priced but in the end I couldnt get past the last name on it that wasnt mine. If it was just "To Mike" it would have been a done deal. I do have my Maris to fall back on though so its all good! but I have attached one Rich will like!!

Here is a Ted Williams that I got off of eBay for next to nothing. Came with PSA/DNA letter.

Janis and I were born in the same Port Arthur hospital, so I've always followed her stuff. That's a great pick-up.

I used to have a Dick Butkus personalized 'to Scott' photo that I got from a friend named 'Scott'. When my friend died, I gave the photo to his older brother. Ironically, the only time I actually met Dick Butkus was when I was ten years old - he lived up to his first name, and I did not get an autograph.

Try having a name that was hardly around until the last 40 years (and even then, not "popular") and add a unique spelling of it on top of that. NOPE.

I did see a signed Mantle photo once made out "To Jared", which is close enough for me. I couldn't find it again to save my life. If you guys see it around, kindly give me a shout. ;)

Great thread, Richard!

Just use this search on ebay

(to james) (signed, signature, auto, autograph, autographed)
or
(to james, to jim) (signed, signature, auto, autograph, autographed)

I don't, but for the last 6 months I have had a search with email updates set up for
(to jeffrey, to jeff) (signed, signature, auto, autograph, autographed)

Nothing exciting has popped up yet.

Thanks for this. My daughter and I got a kick out of it. Very creative.

The only piece I am missing is a "To Chris Mickey Mantle."
