Both nice, but I would take the one on the right.

I voted right. That bottom right area/corner on the left example was the deciding factor.

Like the deeper orange on the left.

Bob,

Are both cards the same grade?

they are.

and to answer another question all in one...

the braves logo on left is not rippled like that. it's very clear and registered.

They are both beautiful. I love the rough edges which appear on both albeit on opposite borders but rough borders to me are like pack fresh all the way!

The one on the left is deep and clear. No doubt. Left!!!!!!!

Thanks for sharing! Are these incredible PSA 8s?

Damn!!!!

:)

Peace, Mike

I like the centered right one the best, BUT i would not take either, especially in a high grade, that would cost a good chunk of money.
I would wait for a better specimen without the rough-cut edge.

Rough cut edge = NEVER tampered with, factory fresh, pack fresh, no risk.

Clean edge = clean blade, perfection, possibility of nefarious activity

These are just my thoughts but to know a card has never been tampered with make me oh so want those specimens!

I know some folks hate rough cut but I love them. If I feel a card is not tampered with and has clean edges I will jump all over that also its just with clean edges, there is always that possibility and as many on here know, TPGs have slabbed PLENTY of trimmed cards. IMO.

yes, they are both 8's...

i actually like the rough cut on earlier topps cards as well for all the aforementioned reasons.

even though we are hovering around the 25/75% on the left/right, i might choose left. centering between the 2 isn't that far off and i like the deeper, orange color. the registration around "henry aaron" is crisper as well, however i'd say ya really cant go wrong w/ either. both are amazing eights!!!

i have to agree that there is way more ground for this card to cover (and no that's not my consignment at pwcc) ; )

from the natural hrs, to the way he handled himself during the chase, to being 1st colored hr leader, to handling the mental aspect of death threats and playing in the south, to being a civil rights hero, i think this card is completely undervalued and honestly surprised it hasn't knocked on the door of a six figure number yet in an 8.

i do not think we are too far off though. maybe 2 years'ish....maybe a lot sooner. it's basically doubled in price the last 5 months alone.

the pwcc 8 will be a fun one to watch, though

i also noticed that someone snagged up all 3 of those decent centered 5's this past weekend...smart move!

this pwcc will turn heads and break sale records for the grade and subsequently drag everything else up with it.

mantle is the man for postwar. but from a price point, i think aaron is way under the radar!

Cant understand why the 1955 Clemente should sell for more than the 1954 Aaron

Without holding both cards in hand it hard to discern if the differences in color are real or just a result of the scanner settings. It's so close, though, that it would be tough to make a choice based on scans alone.

It looks like I'm in the minority, but I just think the one on the left looks better. The image is nice, and I prefer the color in the background. Can't go wrong either way though, both great cards.

I agree - I like the deeper orange color much better and the rough cut bothers me a lot less on the one on the left!

Check the pop report, possibly fewer Clementes in each grade, plus he is extremely popular more so than Aaron.
