I love this:

Today is also the one year anniversary that I received my first T206. It was Dahlen Boston, and today is Dahlen's birthday.
Most of these are from December. I've caught the T207 bug, and have picked up a number of cards for my T206 project lately. Also a really cool T205 P42 with 2 backs showing.

Sweet cards, Luke. As they say --- "diversify" :)
A nicer than my needed condition tough common (especially the rarer "goatee" variation ;)), puts me at 87:

T206 Brooklyn Team set which came out of Zach Wheat's scrapbook. Thought it was neat that he had every card in the set. They all have tape from being in his scrapbook but I don't care as I wouldn't sell them anyway.

Wow, Kenny, having Zach Weat's personal T206 collection is one of the coolest things I've ever seen in this hobby! Beyond words.
I finally picked up the elusive last color variation of the E94 Wagner to draw closer to completing my E94 master set. The red background Honus took 5 years to find.

Thank you very much, Leon!
I've owned a handful of CB's over the years, and many are plagued with poor centering, or non-bold ink, etc...so this one answers the bell for me. and Jim C (jcc6252) was a pleasure to deal with.
PS- I'll be posting a card in this thread in a day or two that YOU used to own. ;)

I used to own that Carolina Brights Livingstone card. Really a nice card.
Hours after winning the E94 red Wagner, I was able to win a gold Devlin which is the last color variation needed of Devlin (had the red, blue, green, olive, violet and the rare orange).
It's odd I can go almost a year without finding one of the E94s I still need in the right color and then BOOM, BOOM, two in less than 24 hours :D
Great Anson AJ! Some day I would love to find the Kelly from that set.

Sweet '38. Big Head Goudeys seem under appreciated on this board, but I personally find them incredibly appealing. Especially with great centering and color like yours.
Having completed the T207 set I decided to add a subset of all the "tough scarce backs" with Cycle backs only. About 2/3 done.

When I started collecting vintage 20 years ago the very first card I bought was a Duffy Mayo, ungraded, excellent or better. Loved it. There was one problem. When I got home and looked in a catalog they said it was black toned and with black back and the one I had was...brown. At least the dealer admitted it was a reprint and took it back. Been wanting one since but had to be in great shape and very pricey at that. Now, a reasonable price, I just won this...if anything, it looks like a 5 and great centering. The MK they say is small pencil mark on black black and only visible at an angle....

Brett,
Thank you.
Brian Van Horn
Had an Uncle Marvin Van Horne who lived in Big Sandy Tennessee.
Been gone for many years now, unfortunately. Just a last name I don't see/hear very often.
Leon, that T206 Speaker you stole was one of my consignments @ Mile High. I know you will enjoy the card even more when you can gaze adoringly at it perched in your hand. Terrific color! Along with the Cobb greenie, Speaker T206s seem to be heating up; it always has been a terrific card. John

Thanks John.
Sorry to say (sort of) that I picked up one of your other consignments too, the E126 Meusel is coming back home soon.

Irv,
Thank you for the post. I do not know if I am any relation to Marvin. The interesting thing is that we, meaning my brothers and I, are nearly the only Van Horns we know. My grandparents divorced when my father was about three. He, my grandfather, remarried and had a daughter and son, but that's about it. My father kept the name Van Horn, but my grandmother remarried and, of course, changed her last name with the ceremony. Somewhere back in the history of the family the "e" was dropped from the end of the last name.

Van Horne is a huge name for Canadian baseball fans. Dave Van Horne, from Easton, Pennsylvania, called Montreal Expos games for 32 years. (He's now a Marlin) He was inducted into the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame in 2014.

I'll have to ask my Father, Brian. I know my Uncle Marvin was divorced but that's about all I know about that.
He remarried a woman named, Helen and also fought in the Korean war.
I don't believe he was originally from Big Sandy Tenn, but I could be wrong.
I'll let you know. :)

This was originally purchased a couple months ago but just arrived back from SGC yesterday. Part of my first ever submission.

Apparently tied for the highest graded by SGC.

Gotta love that T3 Lennox. I'd be thrilled to have a baseball card made of me, especially a beauty Turkey Red --- But being shown forever missing a pitched ball by 2 or 3 feet, not so much !!!! :o

Great looking Ruth! Congrats!
A couple new T206 for the old collection. That Lattimore seems hard to find with good centering.
That Baer card is wrong on a few levels....

I'm not sure if you're aware, but that Piedmont 350 Ganley is really rare. Nice pick up. There's been several threads about these elusive Piedmont 350s:

I hate using this word as it's far too overused in card descriptions, real estate listings, fashion shows, etc, but it seems very appropriate here: stunning. Great purchase.

Thanks guys, and Sam yours looks equally stunning, as do the other two you picked up. Lots of great pickups this month. I love that yellow Ruth as well.

Still looks better than a PR 1 to me. I could understand that grade/rating if the paper loss was on the front, but definitely not the back.

bought a few cards because you like the way they look and realize that you had subconsciously started building a subset? Had no intention to build a T206 HoF set, but I guess I am now. Also happened with Delongs.
Special thanks to Jim C for the great tranaction on Huggins.
Also, that Cobb 1 looks awesome above.

Loving all these Cobbs. Despite a few creases, the image quality and sharpness in his face are not affected at all. Congrats.
Big thanks to Brian Kritz for this Reese. No idea if he's a board member, but I've now had several nice dealings with him.

Part of my PSA membership renewal sub. As some of you know, this is my first T206, and I'm happy to have it back in a slab. Also happy to own a 1936 NM-MT card of a HOFer.
