I just picked up this DiMaggio signed Yankees document. Any idea on value? I got it for what I thought was a steal. Thanks for any help.

Sorry, but unfortunately this one is a very common preprint signature and does not have value. I can't get to it right now but I will post an example later so you can compare. Best off not trying to "get a steal" unless you are really certain what to look for, as "autographs" like this one end up being picked up. Lots of decent Dimaggio's here to buy, there was a great, authentic photo on the BST a few days ago.

Reading the content of the letter pretty much tells you that the signature is a print...

Still, a neat display piece!

Here is an example of the same preprint signature on a letter, note the same smudge, etc. I pulled this one quickly from google images so the quality of the scan isn't very good but it's still fairly easy to see.

Agreed. Pre-printed signatures aren't always worthless. I have a couple of facsimile signed Mantles in my collection. They are nice for what they are. Not the value of an authentic signature, but not the value of a forgery either.

I guarantee you could still get north of 50 bucks for the letter to a Yankees collector. The letterhead alone is worth 30-40 bucks to someone.
