My sincerest apologies for those of you who don't want Another t206 Thread. That's only kind of what this is - it's more of a half-t206 thread. :)

Some of you may remember this card, if you've been here a while. I bought it, I dunno - 7, 8 years ago on eBay, because I got a kick out of it, and it was briefly discussed at the time. I'm in it for not much at all.

Anyway, I decided to leave it in the holder, because (a) it's amusing, and (b) I figured the writing on the back most likely meant it was Ferris, anyway.

Today, while looking at listings on ebay, I found another card - not Ferris - with "erris" and a position written on the back. So it's not an identifier of the player. It's an owner who wrote his name on the card.

So, back to the title: Crack and soak it, to see what I've got (assuming it's 2 full cards and not just a pair of skinned half-cards...), or continue to have an amusing, mis-slabbed, paperweight for my desk?

I find the card has some character. Why not leave it alone and just enjoy it?

It's a Doyle Nat'l. Na just kidding. It's a cool card how it is!

I think you'd regret it immediately. My vote is leave it. Fun card.

Soaking won't help that card.

Judging by the cond. of the card, nothing to be gained by popping it, other than to free it from that butt-ugly defunct slab.

Thanks, all! It's a nice decoration, and that's what it will stay.

I'm curious about what the card on the back is, but if I were THAT curious I'd probably have cracked it long ago. It was mainly learning that, hey, it's probably not Ferris, that led me to reconsider.

But it's also probably not Cobb, Young, Mathewson, Johnson, or anybody else that would be worthwhile with glue stuck to his face and one corner gone.

Speaking of glue stuck to your face and one corner gone, anybody know who won that lot of 200 cards glued and taped into a scrapbook that's now sold twice on eBay?
