I purchased a group of sports postcards yesterday and found this card. It's a real photo postcard. Looking closely, I wonder if it shows some members of the c. 1907 Pirates, I ask this because: the player in the center has a P on his jacket that looks like the one used in 1907. The player on the far right has a P on his cap that looks like the one used 1900-06. The player to the front has his jacket open with the letters R, A and E showing. There's room between the A and E to allow for a T. That would mean RATE which fits PIRATES. Opinion welcomes. Thanks.

Appears to be a generic town team

Guy in the center reminds me of Mike Simon. He came up to the Pirates in 1909. Not saying it's him. Would feel a little better if he were wearing a catcher's mitt. Lots of Pirates team photos out there to try to match faces. Good luck.

Thanks to all. It looks like the next thing to do is to try to match faces with names. It's a long shot but who knows?

I know, it's not Mike Simon, it's not a Pit NL jersey, it's not the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Well, that clears that up.

The visible jersey doesn't even say "Prates" (not enough of a fold to hide the "T"), and even if it did, that would not match what they wore during the claimed period.

This can be any town team starting with "P."

Again, thanks to everyone. I knew it was a long shot but I had to ask.
