In 1933 there are 4 Ruths...still very popular....

and ZERO 1934 goudeys? am I wrong?

and only one 4-1 1935 Braves Ruth in 1935?

what happened in 1934...did he not play or issue with goudey or something?

An interesting question. He certainly played in 33 and 34. And even a few games in 35. A dispute sounds like a likely cause. Perhaps another net54 member has more knowledge than we do on this set.

I just noticed but you might get more of a response if this is moved to the pre-war forum.

I think Lou Gehrig deserves the spotlight in '34 Goudey.

They probably didn't feel the need to but Ruth in the set because he was included in the '34 Goudey Premiums set instead.

weird how they went from 4 cards in the regular 33 set to zero......not sure how good for business at the time but not putting in the ruths for 1934
