I was reading the bio's of some recently purchased T205's when I began to wonder ... who wrote this stuff? Maybe some baseball writer of the era like Bulger ... or some stats guy from American Litho? Or both? MLB? Kind of related to the question of who printed the backs I guess ... American Litho. or were the backs printed at various factories? Seems like it would have been easiest to have just one person sit down and contribute all the bio's and stats. If so ... I wonder who it was? I haven't read enough of the backs yet to tell if it might have been just one person. Just curious. Jerry.

When you find the answer to that question...you will likely also find out the secrets of the universe! Good luck!

Though I have no idea as to the author(s), I must say I enjoy his/their style. Ditto for T202.

I don't think Ted is old enough, more like Frank.

You're both right! Luckily I was able to find this photo of Ted and Frank in action. :D

Does any of the language on the back of the cards match reach or spalding catalogs from 1911-12.?

That's a great question. Unfortunately I sold my only Spalding and Reach guide some years back. However I think some of those guides are available online. Also ... G. H. Flemings The Unforgettable Season was basically written by sports writers of the the day. I'll have to pull that off the shelf when I get home. Great book BTW.
