Perhaps a 1910s version of Sun's Out, Guns Out

You cannot possibly be as old as you say you are and come up with this stuff. Brilliant.

For the price I am thinking someone might jump on it. You get a high percentage of the HOBO :) card for a low percentage of what a nice one would cost...

He's going to wish he raised the price now, when he sees how many views he gets.;)

Because he also has the head off & ear removed the more correct acronym used in the Hobby for this version of Cobb is that it is called the HOBO HOER.

Is it wrong that I did? Also, would PSA even slab it Authentic?

It certainly is a condition rarity--would be very difficult to duplicate that upper edge!

Highest and best,

With the purchase of this Cobb card, you are on the slippery slope leading to beater city. Beware of all the deformed cards that, now emboldened, will come at you from the shadows to snatch away money from your wallet when you least expect it (and sometimes when it may result in financial ruin).

One way ticket to despair/bliss

Agreed. I finally have the finances/interest to put together some prewar stuff. I'll never have enough for a Wags or Plank but I think everything else is doable as long as I don't overreach.

Condition is second to owning. Congrats on a great pick up!! Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. That thing has some character going for it..

I agree condition for a collector is secondary. As one of the poorer members trying to collect the T210 set I would be more than happy to pick some up in that condition.

Now if I invested in cards it would be an entirely different story.

I don't think this one would get the PWCC High-End Certified status.

Thanks Leon. I thought it was a good pick up. I'm trying to put together as much of the t206's as I can on a shoestring budget. My rule is: the only money I spend on prewar is from modern cards that I sell. Luckily for me I had a couple cases of 85 FB racks sitting around! That knocked out some variations and the O'Hara STL. The fun is in the hunt for me.

Is the card even authentic? Why does the chipping/paper loss around the edges show "fresh" paper underneath? Shouldn't it be evenly toned around the edges?

The picture washes it out a bit. In hand the ripped paper has a yellow tone to it.
