The only problem with all of the battlefield auctions is that - what you see is not what you get! Another point is that his photoshopping skills are quite good.

There is negative feedback after negative feedback saying the cards are photoshopped. At what point does eBay shut down a seller for bad practices? They've sold so many items that even with all the negative and neutral feedback they still have a 99.2% positive feedback rating.

In my opinion, much of the issue with this seller is with the grades not being what the buyer would have graded (or expected).....although we complain about PSA and SGC to some degree, online selling would be much more difficult if sellers were left to grade their own cards all the time like this seller. Many buyers may not be happy.

You'd be surprised how easy it is to photoshop a card. It probably wouldn't even take 5 minutes.

Even less time...

Indeed you're correct. I'd have to brush up on my photoshop skills as I haven't used it in years so I imagine everything's set up differently for him probably a minute lol.

No it's all pretty much the same or Adobe would go out of business with all the designers (myself included) that would have to relearn it and don't have time as deadlines from clients wouldn't change.

Their explanation, " our scanner scans bright". It scans so bright it goes back in time to when the cards were in better shape.

A lot of the high end cards are altered. I took a shot once on an expensive t206 card and it came back altered stock. No problems getting a refund, but battlefield had it relisted before I even got it back from PSA. With the same guarantee to be authentic and unaltered. I would stay away from this seller.

The first thing I check when bidding with a new seller is the negative feedback.... Can't imagine bidding here even if I'd never visited net54.

LMAO.....Reminds of the Uverse salesperson that called me not too long ago. I told them my service was immediate. Any faster and it would be yesterday :).

The best part of the feedback are all of the sellers responses. Some how everyone is lying, and they're all blocked.

They move so much volume that ebay doesn't care. If one of the smaller guys has 2 or 3 negative their rating can dip below the standard and potentially get banned. Seems like the moral of the story is if you make enough money for someone there are no morals.

"I admit that the settings we used in prior years with old equipment was simply were not universally accurate (in my opinion); sometimes making some issues appear ‘hot’ or overly bright. In our defense, it’s hard to make one group of settings that optimize every card issue from 1888-2014. As technology has improved, so have our scanners and we feel that our current images are extremely accurate. If folks are upset with past images, I sincerely apologize and perhaps those folks prefer our current representations more."

I'm sending this explanation to the seller to use, I bet it will calm everyone down.

That's a classic segue, Jeff!

Many/most/all of the Goudeys appear to be from a recent lot sold by REA (the cert# of the PSA 5 Ott matches). Many of these were described as trimmed in REA's description. Following is the link:

Their last feedback was a negative due to trimming. Go figure..
