Unfortunately, when I first got eBay I bought bulk of Nick Adenhart right as I heard the news of his passing, then relisted everything within minutes and sold them all for a 10x profit before the seller even knew I bought th lots lol.q

Was a dumb kid lol

At least the reseller was smart enough to put "Cy" in the title. Not everyone searches the description... Why would you not spend three additional seconds to put his first name in?

I wonder if he would accept $211? A buck is a buck.

Well someone on the board here won a card in auction last night (not auction from here) and already sold the card here today. So the card isn't even in his possession yet. I know because I was tempted to bid on the card. Made a pretty good profit. It is a really nice looking card.

How's that for a successful flip ???

Wouldn't it be a son of a bitch if the card got lost in the mail while en route from seller A to Seller B? ;)

Perhaps the card was teletransported to the buyer (new seller) as per Star Trek.

Never claimed it was and don't want to out the person who did because I'm not sure if that is a practice that is frowned upon and don't want to make enemies here only friends. Just pointing it out as it added to the discussion.

Those were some really special cards you had on Ebay this week. Wish I could've afforded them.

This seller bought a card from me, BIN off eBay. He had the card relisted on eBay before I had the card packaged to mail 3 hours later.

Just sounds like free enterprise, to me.

If I tried this, I'd lose money for sure.

Bad business to sell a card you don't have in hand. Too many things can go wrong.
And what happens if the catd sells, and you said you ship in one business day - like me.
You can print a label, and it looks like it has shipped, but it hasn't. That is not being truthful. Lying in other words.

Not a good practice.

I agree!

I disagree. As long as the seller tells the buyer that he just bought it, and has yet to get it, then there is no issue at all if, God forbid, it gets lost. The deal just won't get done. It's all about transparency. If I am buying something I really don't care if the seller has it in hand yet, as long as I am told what is going on.

Couldn't agree more. Maybe if everyone was more open with info like this we would spend less time theorizing about the motives of the seller and more time collecting. If you tell the buyer you don't have it yet, no problem in my book.

Leon, yeah I can see that in a one-on-one transaction. Like on here.

But, I was talking about a standard ebay listing. I've never seen a listing stating " I don't actually have this card yet, but.." It is implied whatever a person is selling on ebay, is in their possession.
