Not anything earth shattering, but a decent 1958 Dodger ball (plus Walt Dropo??) without Koufax but a decent Hodges and Drysdale that I was able to get nice and cheap.

Added another HOFer to the signed ball collection. Sure, it's on a random multi-signed ball, and it's a little light (although it looks stronger in person,) but I couldn't pass it by for 36 bucks!

Got this one back from the framer today. Circa 67 cut framed with a stub from 1973 old timers game. Mick went yard on whitey ford for homer 537. Which turned out to be his last

Won this for what I thought was a very reasonable price in Legendary last night:

Excited to add these two rare pieces...

President William Henry Harrison (1795 Document)
President James Garfield (1876 Letter)

Congrats on the Young Callahan. I paid $2000 on my first of those. The legendary prices on many of the items were a bargain. The Ruth on the picture of the Hawaiian team was a bargain. I should have bid higher.

True, but still cool to own a 200 year old document from a future president...Jimmy Spence would call this William Henry Harrison an "Early Signature" - :D:D:D

Thanks! And I agree. At least for autos I thought the prices were either below market or right on the nose. I didn't see anyone over paying last night. And I just couldn't pass up that Young at that price.

What would a "rookie" signature of a President actually be?
How about when he was Governor, Congressman or Senator?

That can be the "rookie" level, and then once that runs its course, he can come out with "pre-rookie" signatures, from when said President was a lowly county executive/state rep/mayor/private citizen, etc

Hey Richard, I know you already know this but for those that don't, the POTUS sigs command HUGE money on these 2 because of their time in Office.

Correct me if I'm wrong Greg, but only a handful of documents actually exist that aren't already held by a museum. Correct?

VERY true, Harrison as POTUS (depending on content) is typically 6 figures  Most are in private collections that won't see the light of day for years to come!!

Another HOFer off the list on a baseball, Hugh Duffy. It's under an inch of shellac, but completely legible. Has a vintage DiMag on the back.

Paid for a signing a few weeks, then this shows up from a TTM request last year. It's been a long time since I posted a TTM success. This one was huge!

Here is a recent pickup that is pretty cool:
A very scarce single signed album page of Pittsburgh Pirates hurler Bob Moose.

Bob Moose pitched a no-hitter game against the Amazin' Mets on September 20th, 1969 at Shea.

Moose unfortunately died in a tragic car crash on his 29th birthday in 1976... :(

Picked this one up today from a member of this forum. I now have 3 signed Ruth 33 Goudeys. Just need the Ruth red background, Frisch and Collins and will have every 33 Goudey HOFer signed.

I think John R. has 3 Garfields as President available on his site right now, and 1 Harrison as well.

Garfields seem to pop up every now and then. One of the Garfields that John has I remember seeing at I believe Catherine Barnes' over the past couple of years where it was listed at a reasonable $8,000-$9,000 or so. I should have snatched it up then as the same one sold for $9,093 at Eaton's auction not much later and now John has it asking $19,000 I think.

I THINK (not sure if I'm recalling correctly as I'm a bit busy these days to track graphs like I used to) I remember seeing a Harrison as President sell for $60K plus within the last couple of years and another for $120K

Don't recall if Heritage has offered either as Pres the past couple of years.

Both are available though every now and then as long as one is willing to pay the price.

Good luck in your search if you are looking for one,

Mike

Thanks, Michael. Was almost as excited to add this one. It is only the second one I have ever seen. Also got an AL Simmons from the same seller.

Jason,

That Speaker was a beauty to see today. Great pickup. I ended up going 7 for 7 and batting 1.000 today so it was a good day. Barely made it out of there in time though as they didn't get my stuff back until about 1:20.

Message me and let me know what the other nice one you showed me graded out as.

Cool Roosevelt pick up. That looks like a Todd Axelrod frame job from back in the day.

I picked up this one tonight. Had just sold my last Armstrong on Saturday to a fellow board member, but this one caught my eye about 11 this morning so I bid on it and was high bidder tonight. I liked it because it's not inscribed and has the Apollo 11 added in his hand. Additionally I thought it was neat that it came with the original transmittal letter to Herb Yellin, the man behind The Lord John Press. It's pure speculation on my part, but I wonder if Herb was trying to get him to put his one small step quote. Piece was also "pre-certified" by fellow board member Mr. Zipper.
