A guy came to the Plainville CT show today with these two photos. I told him they did NOT look like Babe, but said the awesome folks at the Net54 would give their opinions. Type 1 Period snapshots as seen.

Opinions please? If not Babe,. who do you feel it is, and value? Thank you. Scott

If I had to guess I'd say the guy facing the camera is Bob Meusel. It is definitely not Babe Ruth. Batter? possibly.

No Ruth in my opinion. Looks to be like a young Bob Meusel. As for who is batting is anyones guess. Really cant be Ruth as he was much bigger in stature. Price 10-40 dollars...

Hard to tell from behind whether the batter is Ruth or not. We think of Ruth as being heavier but in 1920 he was pretty svelte. Still the guy looks thin to me. Interestingly, if it is from 1920, there were very few left handed batters on the Yankees. I think Ruth and Wally Pipp were the only regulars who hit from the left side.

That's definitely Meusel on the portrait shot. And date-wise, it's either 1920 or 1922, for sure.

The second shot, I'm not gonna lie, looks like Ruth to me. He was definitely that svelte when he came up with the Yankees, and it looks like his stance to me from that angle. But I could be wrong.

I ain't about Meusel though, dammit!
