i am asking this here because most members have a lot of experience with SGC holders.. does this case look tampered with?

It definitely looks beat up. It could be tampered with but the card looks like a 9, and I kind of doubt anyone would mess with a card like that because it's a low dollar card. I'm assuming that's like a $20-30 card (pre-war guy though so that could be way off).

No it does not look tampered with.

This link should help you with value: http://www.cardtarget.com/cgi-bin/gm_price_history.cgi?cardID=1069877911&grade=9

Not sure how you got that card for only $20 but someone fell asleep on that one.

SGC "commons" don't get any love. This card for $20 surprises me none!

Put it this way. I have seen high grade commons in PSA holders sell for $300+. I would have the exact same card in an SGC holder, consign it with PWCC (the premiere place to sell your cards and watch them bring high dollar), and see the card sell for $30-$40. The PSA Set Registry is a powerful drug.

As for the OP's card, the $20 is not unusual. It sold for just $38 just 3 months ago. Now, if the OP is brave enough to crack it out, send it to PSA, and lucky enough to achieve the '9' grade again, then we are talking!!!
