After several weeks of searching the web with a few new clues, and finding more about Howe's daughter, just found this in the last hour ....

"Betty Mc Cormick was a friend from the 1960's till her death in 2003
from complications of Alzheimer's.

She was born in Jacksonville in 1928 and after her career as a Moon
Maid, she became a Jingle Singer. She was the lead singer in Burt
Bacarach's PROMISES, PROMISES, (1968) as a "Pit-Girl", his first
attempt at background singers for a Broadway Musical. In recent years
she changed the spelling of her first name to Bettye. Do you have any
information on her in your archives which is not on the web site of her
early years with the orchestra?"

This was found on the Vaughn Monroe Orchestra Yahoo Chat Group. Monroe was what could best be described as a big band leader and singer. If you've ever seen either Die Hard or Die Hard 2, he is the singer of Let It Snow at the end of each movie. So the lead that she was a big band singer was correct, but I can now tell the McCormicks who have still been hoping to contact her that she died twelve years ago.

I've reached out to the Yahoo Chat site in hopes that this poster will know whether she ever married and kept her maiden name, or had children or anything. We'll see if a get a response, as this was posted six years ago.

The search will continue for Howe's cards, but not holding out much hope for any other descendents other than second-cousin Don.
