So I picked this up the other day as I thought it was pretty cool. It's beat up I know but wondering if anyone has seen another like this. I've seen a Ty Cobb that was dated to 1910 and a Mathewson dated to 1911 but those are the only other examples I've seen.

Now I know its at least from 1918 since that is where the Ruth photo is pulled from. Also does anyone recognize the stadium? The writing on the front is from 1923 but I also know when I had notebooks as a kid if it was one I really liked I may not use it for a while.

Anyway any info would be greatly appreciated, I haven't decided if I want to keep it or pass it on so want to try to be educated either way.

There's also a Lajoie in the series. Same pose used on his E94 cards.

Thanks Rob. I'm sure there are more. Did you figure out the exact year of yours?

I never gave it much thought. I've always assumed that because Lajoie left Cleveland for Philadelphia after the 1914 season, the notebook dated to before then.

It reminds me of this batting pose premium of Ruth. I no longer own it but SGC slabbed it circa 1920....I put them at circa 1921 (Special Tour) but circa 1920 is probably safer. I am not saying yours is this year, but when I saw the notebook it made me think of this card..

Hi Brad, as you noted, the photo is from 1918: Link (https://catalog.scpauctions.com/LotDetail.aspx?inventoryid=20038). Here's another one of these notebooks here: Link (http://www.goodwinandco.com/LotDetail.aspx?inventoryid=6256). It's a pretty iconic image used on a few different cards also such as the 1927 Honey Boy. Here's a Universal Toy one that I have w/ the same image.

So do you really think its from 1915-1919? I would say 1918-20's? Either way thanks for all of your help guys, now I can see what they are supposed to look like not so beat up.

I think it should be dated 1918-1919 or c.1918.
