Wanted to do a little show and tell about what I was able to spend a little time with and research on my family vacation last week.

We were going to New Castle PA to see family, so between visits the family hade time to go the towns little trailer house Historical Society.

I had know that there is a old but still used park called Flaherty Field that has a rich histroy of ball being played at many levels for about 70 years. Second on the back for the T205 John Rowen it states that he is a native of New Castle PA. 3rd Chuck Tanner coach of the Pittsburgh Pirates is from that town also. It would be a nice chance to see if they had any info on him or old time baseball anything.

We walk in and I see a Tanner case with photos and old news papers, but my eye goes straight for a big trophy with a signed baseball in a pitchers grip. It's a Honus Wagner signed ball. The case this trophy is wide open so I ask the lady if I can take a picture, she said ya just grab it and take it out. Oh and she said it's signed by somebody. I tell her it's a Wagner ball and her has no idea how that is but adds there may be more signatures on it also. When I turned it there is Cy Young signed.

I'm bounce off the wall inside just to see and touch such a great ball. I tell her as much about the ball as I could and about what it was worth. She said "well we will have to start locking that case".

Wagner from Western PA, Young from Eastern Ohio maybe they were honorairy Captians of the 1st game played at Flahery Field.

Crazy story but so cool to discover. Maybe they have a Cobb/ WoJo ball stashed away in a file cabinet.

my sister-in-law went to the same place and said they still didn't even have the trophy/ball back in case. Its setting on a table kind of out of the way.
