The "Babe" looks way off to me...I say no!

Aside from the signature being a bit off, would the Babe sign grocery receipts "Babe" Ruth? Didn't he sign his personal checks "GW Ruth"? So, I'm just wondering if he would sign other documents (or in this case, receipts) as the "Babe".

Also, am I seeing that correctly....as he put "Easter, 1930" for the date? If that's the case, Babe was playing at Griffith Stadium in DC that day (April 20, 1930), so I don't know if he would be receiving deliveries of groceries (not impossible..but just not highly likely).

Signature aside, a lot of things stand out in the piece itself that would make me skeptical. No business identifier. Old torn receipt filled out in pencil, which is tough to date. If there was a business name and address it could be verified as at least being in business, would pinpoint the Babe's location, and if filled in ink, you would have more to look for in terms of being "period".

Being the the receipt is heavily faded except his signature should be a red flag

Also looks like something was erased right under the UT and a bit into the H. Right about where someone would have initialed it.
